Memorial release covers EP ‘Thinking In Circles’

Real Kind Records

After having pricked up the ears of industry tastemakers and fans alike with their first three releases, British duo Memorial are back with their new covers EP - ‘Thinking In Circles’.

While ‘Latchkey’, ‘Love Is A Kind Of Sadness’ and ‘Moth To A Flame’ showcased the band’s penchant for poetry and song writing, this new EP demonstrates their innate musicality, as they turn loved fan favourites into entirely new pieces of work. The lead single from the EP sees the boys taking on Fontaine’s D.C’s ‘A Hero’s Death’ and marks a stark change of pace from the propulsive original recording by the Irish band. ‘Thinking In Circles’ also features covers of Solange, Nirvana and Warpaint, in which Memorial strip things right back, slow things down and take a genteel approach to their re-imagination of these songs.
