Lime Garden’s new track ‘Clockwork is out now
So Young Records
Fast-rising Brighton newcomers Lime Garden have shared their brand new single ‘Clockwork’, out now via So Young Records. Lime Garden will also head out on tour this winter with Junodream and will play Pitchfork Festival in Paris, after a string of summer festival dates reconnecting with live audiences.
‘Clockwork’ follows previous single ‘Pulp’ - which premiered via The FADER - and finds the band stomping through a futuristic world where dark-disco basslines and deadpan delivery are in audio ascendency. Singer Chloe Howard explains: “‘Clockwork’ was written at a time when we were feeling trapped in the cycle of our everyday lives. We wanted to capture that sense of being caught in a continuous loop where emotions sometimes lead us to a dark and frantic mindset.”
Combining the coming-of-age undertones demonstrated on debut single ‘Sick & Tired’ and the irresistible bass grooves of previous single ‘Pulp’, ‘Clockwork’ spins a harder edge on growing up, laying out the modern anxieties surrounding impending adulthood. Howard continues: “We’ve grown up being in this band at this time. Somewhat losing that naïve childlike feeling of expecting to feel on top of the world every day”.
