So Young sign Lime Garden
So Young Records
So Young Records have a knack for spotting raw talent in its early stages and their new signing to the label is no exception: meet Lime Garden, your favourite four-piece whose infectious, ever-changing energy will leave you wanting to be their best buds after one romp through their discography.
The band was born out of a glorious twist of fate, when Chloe Howard and Annabel Whittle - who were friends on social media - found out that they’d just enrolled at the same college. Here they met Leila Deely, and the three bonded over a love of Talking Heads and Courtney Barnett lyrics. Once college life was done and dusted, the bright lights of Brighton beckoned, which is where the fourth and final piece of the band puzzle - Tippi Morgan - fell into place and Lime Garden was complete.
With an infectious and ever-changing energy that pervades throughout their songs, artwork, and videos, the band have started to develop a similarly enthusiastic response. Having gate-crashed the 6 Music playlist with their self-released debut ‘Surf N Turf’, the follow-up self-released ‘Fever’ found its way onto a ‘Future Artists’ slot on Annie Mac’s Radio 1 show. With the world on pause, they still managed to keep up the momentum with live streamed shows and their next Brighton headline show selling out 6 months in advance. All of this brought the band to the attention of So Young Records, through which they’ll release their new 7” single - ‘Sick And Tired’. Cascading with the band’s signature kaleidoscopic vocals and effervescent soundscape, ‘Sick & Tired’ is an undisputed pop-gem.
